“And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry” (Genesis 8:13).
Life comes with seasons, times of struggle, times of waiting, and times of breakthrough. Just as the floodwaters rose and covered the earth for a time, there came a day when they finally dried up. Noah and his family, after enduring such a long and challenging season, finally saw dry ground. Imagine Noah’s joy when he looked out of the ark that morning and saw the earth renewed, ready for a fresh start.
This beautiful moment happened on the first day of the first month, a new year’s day like no other. It reminds us that no matter how long our struggles last, they won’t go on forever. God promises an end to our trials and a new beginning. One day, just like Noah, we will step into a season of renewal and joy.
A New Era is Coming
The Bible points us to a day when all pain, tears, and struggles will be gone for good. God will bring forth a new heaven and a new earth. This is the glorious hope we hold onto as believers. The day is coming when we will see Jesus face to face. The veil that keeps us from fully experiencing Him will be removed, and we will rejoice in His presence.
1 John 3:2 says, “We shall see Him as He is.” What a moment that will be! Imagine the joy of finally gazing upon the One who saved us, loved us, and carried us through every trial.
Rejoice in Hope
For now, we live in hope. Life may bring trials and challenges, but our faith gives us strength to press on. The apostle Peter reminds us that the testing of our faith is precious, more valuable than gold. Though we cannot see Jesus physically, we believe in Him, and that belief fills us with a joy that words cannot express.
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:7-8).
What a Day That Will Be
Think of the words of the song:
“O, what a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see,
When I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
And when He takes me by the hand,
Leads me to the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be!”
Hold on, child of God. Your struggles are not forever. Joy is coming. Just as Noah saw dry ground after the flood, you will see a new beginning. Rejoice in the hope of what lies ahead, a glorious day when all things will be made new.
God bless you.
