Key Verse: “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple” (Psalm 27:4).

Message
A person’s desires are often reflected in their words and actions. Ambitious individuals usually talk about success and achievements, revealing what they value most. Our words indeed show what truly matters to us.
King David, despite being a king with great wealth and power, did not let his earthly privileges distract him from seeking heavenly treasures. He understood that life on earth is temporary and that worldly possessions do not last forever. His greatest desire was to dwell in the house of the Lord and enjoy God’s presence.
This unwavering focus on God was the source of his confidence and peace, even when faced with threats and enemies. As Christians, we must also seek a deeper, permanent relationship with God, just like David. Those who prioritize material possessions and worldly achievements risk losing sight of heaven’s eternal glories. When life’s trials come, their faith can falter because it is built on temporary things.
True security cannot be found in human strength or material wealth. The only unshakable refuge is in the house of the Lord. When we dwell with God, we are safe from fear and defeat. His presence brings eternal protection and peace. Amen.
Thought for the Day: If you hope to dwell with God in heaven, start by abiding with Him here on earth.
