In a touching display of love and generosity, the “Agyakwa” family, a Ghanaian family based in the USA, once again brought hope and joy to the children of the “Eye of the Lord” Orphanage Home in Nsawam, Eastern Region. Their visit was not just a gesture of goodwill but a testament to their unwavering commitment to giving back to the community.
The family presented an assortment of food and non-food items, including bags of rice, soft drinks, biscuits, soaps, boxes of mineral water, confectioneries, used clothing, and a generous yet undisclosed amount of money. These contributions not only addressed immediate needs but also symbolized the compassion and care the family has extended to the orphanage over the years.
A Tradition of Giving
Mrs. Helina Agyakwa, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed their heartfelt joy in supporting the orphanage. She shared that the family has adopted the “Eye of the Lord” Orphanage as their own, ensuring that every visit to Ghana includes an opportunity to connect with and support the children.
“For us, giving back is not just a duty but a heartfelt passion,” Mrs. Agyakwa said. “We believe that showing love and compassion, especially to the underprivileged, is one of the greatest ways we can honor God’s blessings in our lives.”
Gratitude from the Orphanage
Receiving the items, Mr. Samuel Kwapong Darko, Director of the orphanage, expressed profound gratitude to the Agyakwa family. His words captured the emotional depth of their relationship with the family:
“The children and staff are forever grateful to the Agyakwa family for their consistent support and love. Their actions remind us that we are not forgotten and that there are people who genuinely care about our well-being. May God Almighty bless them abundantly and keep them in good health and wealth.”
Mr. Darko also appealed to other philanthropic individuals, particularly those in the diaspora, to follow the shining example set by the Agyakwa family.
A Family Affair
Accompanying the family was Mr. Freeman Kofi Owusu, the CEO of Philfree Media Network and brother of Mrs. Helina Agyakwa. Thanks to Mr. Owusu’s efforts, Philfree Media Network provided coverage of the event, amplifying the impact of the family’s noble gesture.
Before departing, the Agyakwa family took a group photograph with the children and staff of the orphanage, capturing a moment that radiated joy, hope, and the beauty of shared humanity.
A Call to Action
The selfless act of the Agyakwa family reminds us all of the power of giving. It underscores the importance of extending a helping hand to those in need, regardless of where we are in the world. Their story is a beacon of hope, inspiring others to join the cause of uplifting the underprivileged and spreading love in tangible ways.
May their example ignite a spark in each of us to make a difference, however small, in the lives of those who need it most.
