The Director of the Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Samuel Avornyo, has called on church leaders to remain committed to the Great Commission, ensuring that children are not left out of evangelism efforts.
Speaking at a gathering of ministers, children’s workers, church officers, and parents in the Abirem Agona Zone on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Pastor Avornyo emphasized that neglecting children in soul-winning efforts turns the Great Commission into a “Great Omission.”
“For me, the letter ‘C’ in the Great Commission stands for Children,” he stated. “Children have souls that need to be won. They must not be overlooked while they are young. The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, and its messengers can include children as well. If we fail to prioritize them, we are omitting a vital part of God’s mission.”
He further urged the church to be more intentional about child evangelism, nurturing young ones to develop a lifestyle of sharing the gospel.
Pastor Avornyo, along with members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Children’s Ministry, is currently touring various Areas in the Central Region to engage stakeholders on the ministry’s 2028 Strategic Plan.
The event was attended by the Elmina Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Oduro Nyarko, along with pastors and their wives.
