Every Wednesday, Philfree Radio’s Daily Dew Show, hosted by the ever-engaging Nana Antwi, brings thought-provoking Bible studies to listeners across the globe. On this week’s episode, Disciple Freeman took center stage with an inspiring message about The Great Commission — a core principle of the Christian faith.
Taken from Matthew 28:18-20, the Great Commission is Jesus Christ’s final instruction to His disciples before ascending to heaven. It’s a clear and powerful call to action:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Disciple Freeman unpacked this message with depth and clarity. He reminded us that Jesus spoke with full authority, given to Him in both heaven and on earth. His command wasn’t just for the disciples of old, but for every believer today.
He drew a profound connection to Genesis 3:6-11, highlighting God’s question to Adam, “Where are you?” after man’s first act of disobedience. This, he explained, reveals God’s eternal desire to be close to us, to restore the broken relationship between Himself and humanity.
Freeman also referenced John 17:4 and Acts 4:16, pointing out that Jesus’ entire mission on earth was in line with fulfilling this divine commission. And like the prophet Isaiah, who responded, “Here I am, send me” (Isaiah 6:8), believers today are also called to say “yes” to God’s mission.
The message ended with a heartfelt invitation based on Revelation 3:20:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in…”
And just like Jesus did in Matthew 4:23, we’re reminded to go out — to teach, to heal, and to bring hope through the gospel.
Disciple Freeman’s teaching was not only a biblical breakdown but a personal challenge to us all: Are we ready to answer the call?
