“The man of God asked, ‘Where did it fall?’ And he showed him the place.” (2 Kings 6:6)
In this story from the Bible, a group of prophets were cutting down trees when one man’s axe head flew off and fell into the water. Without the axe head, the work came to a halt.
This lost axe head represents our spiritual experiences and blessings that sometimes slip away. When this happens, we must ask ourselves, “Where did I lose it?” No one else is responsible for your spiritual decline or struggles. The Bible says, “I have this against you: You have left your first love. Remember therefore where you have fallen; repent.” (Revelation 2:4-5).
It’s vital to take a moment to reflect and identify where we let our guard down or gave the enemy a foothold. If we ignore the issue or blame others or our circumstances, we block the path to healing and restoration.
Why It Matters
When the axe head was lost, the wood-cutting stopped. Without it, the house couldn’t be built. Similarly, when we lose our passion, our first love, or our spiritual focus, the growth and building of our spiritual lives also come to a standstill.
Don’t delay in turning to God. Take an honest look at your heart and show Him where you’ve fallen. He’s ready to help you.
God’s Call to You
Just like in the garden of Eden, when God called out, “Adam, where are you?” He is calling to you today. Don’t hide or make excuses like Adam did. God already knows, and He is a merciful and loving Father who wants to restore you.
Let Him deal with whatever caused you to stumble. Whether it’s pride, distractions, sin, or spiritual neglect, bring it to Him. He is ready to restore you and bring you back into a close and loving relationship with Him.
Prayer:
Lord, I come to You with an open heart. I’m sorry for where I’ve fallen and lost my way. Please show me the areas I need to surrender and restore me to my first love for You. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help me build my spiritual life again with Your guidance and strength. Amen.
Remember, God is not looking to condemn you, He’s looking to bring you back and help you move forward. Don’t wait. Own up and let Him restore all you’ve lost! Amen.
